Anxiety & Panic Evaluations in Myrtle Beach, SC

Clarity. Understanding. A path forward.

At Beach Counseling & Wellness Group of SC, anxiety is not treated as something to “fix”—but something to understand.  Many of the individuals we work with are high-functioning, thoughtful, and capable. On the outside, they appear composed. Internally, they may be navigating persistent worry, racing thoughts, panic episodes, or a constant sense of pressure they can’t fully explain.  An anxiety or panic evaluation provides clarity—so you can move forward with confidence, not uncertainty.

Anxiety and panic are not just cognitive experiences—they are deeply connected to the nervous system. Through the Grasoma Method™, treatment focuses on both understanding and regulating these responses.

A Simple, Two-Step Process

Your evaluation is designed to be thorough—without feeling overwhelming.

Step 1: Clinical Interview (75 minutes)

  • We begin with a focused, in-depth conversation about your symptoms, history, and current stressors. This helps identify patterns, triggers, and the impact anxiety is having on your daily life.

Step 2: Structured Assessment & Feedback (30 minutes)

  • We review targeted assessment measures (when appropriate) and walk through your results together. You’ll receive clear, practical feedback and personalized recommendations for next steps.

What We Look At

This is not a one-size-fits-all screening.

Your evaluation may explore:

  • Generalized anxiety and chronic worry
  • Panic attacks and physiological symptoms
  • Overthinking and mental fatigue
  • Avoidance patterns
  • Stress response and nervous system activation
  • Overlap with ADHD or executive functioning challenges (when relevant)

Signs You May Benefit from an Evaluation

You may benefit from an anxiety or panic evaluation if you:

  • Feel constantly “on edge” or unable to relax
  • Experience panic attacks or sudden waves of fear
  • Struggle to quiet your thoughts
  • Avoid situations due to anxiety
  • Experience physical symptoms without clear medical cause
  • Feel overwhelmed despite functioning well externally

A Calm, Thoughtful Approach

At BCWG, our work is grounded in
The Grasoma Method.

This means:

  • We don’t rush your process
  • We don’t pathologize your experience
  • We consider both mind and body
  • We focus on understanding—not just symptom reduction

Anxiety often begins to make sense when it is approached with curiosity rather than pressure.

Why an Evaluation Matters

Clarity changes everything.

An evaluation can help you:

  • Understand what you’re experiencing
  • Reduce uncertainty and fear
  • Identify patterns and triggers
  • Feel more grounded and in control
  • Move forward with a clear, intentional plan

Frequently Asked Questions FAQ's

How is this different from a regular therapy session?

An evaluation is more structured and focused on gaining clarity. While therapy is ongoing and process-oriented, an anxiety and panic evaluation is designed to assess your symptoms, identify patterns, and provide clear recommendations in a short, two-session format.

Will I receive a diagnosis?

If appropriate, clinical impressions and diagnostic considerations will be discussed with you during the feedback session. The focus is on clarity and understanding—not labeling unnecessarily.

Will I receive a written report?

This evaluation includes verbal feedback and personalized recommendations. If you need a formal written report or documentation, this can be discussed and provided as an additional service.

What if I’m not sure whether this is anxiety or ADHD?

That’s very common. Many symptoms overlap, especially in high-functioning individuals. This evaluation helps clarify whether what you’re experiencing is primarily anxiety, ADHD, or a combination of both—and what to do next.

Do you accept insurance for evaluations?

Anxiety and panic evaluations are offered as a private-pay service to allow for a more thorough, individualized, and non-rushed process.

What happens after the evaluation?

You will leave with a clear understanding of your symptoms and practical next steps. This may include ongoing therapy, targeted strategies, or additional support depending on your needs.

Do I have to continue therapy afterward?

No. Some clients choose to continue therapy, while others want clarity and direction. You are free to decide what feels right for you.

Is this appropriate for teens?

No, not at this time. Evaluations are available for college students aged 18+ years old and adults.

How quickly can I get scheduled?

Appointments are typically scheduled within a reasonable timeframe, subject to availability. Because this is a two-session process, we aim to schedule both sessions close together for continuity.

What if I’ve been dealing with this for a long time?

Many of our clients have. You don’t have to wait until things get worse to seek clarity. In fact, many people seek an evaluation simply because they’re ready to understand what they’ve been carrying for a long time.
